Aakasteir hmm... is that a typo mayhaps? In the safe.

Glad you're keeping this tradition alive Rena! With great company on art and audio. The office setup's a fun one, and I appreciate the extra detail, appreciable throwbacks to the real OG memes and old NG, all ur base and all.

Definitely an interesting choice of music, a little dissonant but... it does fit the theme. A little Noir-like; mysterious, but also somewhat off and comic in a wonky but wonderful way...

This was great! Always worth the wait. 👍✨

I think that was intentional!

OK I really gave it a (quite a few actually) shot but GODDAMN is this difficult!!! Already with the first level! Either I've barely touched a rhythm game in my life or this really is... pretty crazy.

I like the visuals though, I like the sound, I like the Minecraft-like main menu block (and also need to Google potential correlations between Minecraft and the 67 meme right after I post this), and the mechanics are legit too but holy shit is it DIFFICULT.

Doesn't feel like the 6s and 7s really appear on the relevant notes either after a while. Wondering if that's lag or coding, or just my own perception slowing...

Props on game design and everything here but @Kolumbo dude: I didn't even begin to win!!!

Difficulty progression level = grim.

Kolumbo responds:

oh come on it's not THAT hard!!! level 1!?!?

about the 6s and 7s; do you think it's lag? I've personally had no issue like this, but both you and the review below are mentioning lag; we'll push an update with Quality Change options so hopefully that'll do it?

MihaP responds:

Hey, thanks for the review.

Honestly I have no idea where the lag issue lies. During the process we have not encountered desync issues. Maybe next time we should have more people testing it out :/

Cheers

Good ol' Windows really is just like I remember it! XD

Love the little shifts on the icons too. For some reason the self-emptying trash can really entertained me... loading time almost had me complaining, but I waited, and I made it, and now it's raining!!! (Medals.)

Thanks for this!

Helll yeaaah Woodstock! :D Break Stuff will always be iconic, but as far as I'm concerned this was probably the best performance there: https://youtu.be/LMKfIXdxh-U

Such a good collab. Love the love for Korn and LB in particular - great intro too. Just missing a little more LP. :P Lots of familiar bands and covers though, from the maybe greatest era of grunge and thrash; innovative metal that had something all these new mainstream country bumpkins lack... bring that back!!!

Nice work y'all.

I will be seeing you at woodstock 29...

This really was massive! Seems to have ramped up suitably since the 20th. :P Can it be surpassed once more hmm... suppose we'll know in another ten...

Nice work all! And props on putting this all together @Intrapath! And organizers! Behemoth task.

Happy 30th and onward NG! 🎉

Intrapath responds:

Thanks for the kind words! Big shout out to Whirlguy though; he's the one who really brought this all together, both creatively and logistically. I was in more of a programming "make sure all the pieces are in the game" role!

It's like Pico Radio v2 huh, new and improved! :D And like good ol' defunct RadioGrounds with the added DJs. And like GTA with the channel selection! Dope imagery, intuitive and fresh interface, good music... good variation between channels too.

I do wish you could have this still play if you switch tabs; keep it in the background... though surely there are workarounds to do exactly that. Otherwise it's pretty much perfect.

Nice work.

Thank you Cyberdevil!

deathink responds:

Thanks buddy!
IDK if its ruffle or the browsers that makes it stop as soon as it loses focus, but if you seperate the a-bot tab, you should be able to work on the other tabs while it plays in the background.

Always looking forward to these Chickendars. :) Peak of the seasonal festivities; a fun way to start each day! And it's cool it turned into a full-on collaborative effort this year too! Daily diversity with creative content greatly increased.

Nice work y'all.

Politics, PeanutButterJelly, and some real rare MSDOS history on the side! :D Wasn't prepared for the breadth of neither knowledge, nostalgia or diverse strands of entertainment this here very accurate emulation of good 'ol days computing and browsing would provide.

It's all fun and games until it's actual genocide too, poignant and still very much relevant worldly lore and history embedded amidst the fun, and oddly glee and good-memory-inducing buggy OS frustration... focusing on browsing overall's a nice twist compared to the usual Windows OS thing too, and the design style checks out for the time. :) Real nice wallpapers too.

And DOOM! Hell yeah.

Good stuff y'all. I'd planned on getting all medals and THEN reviewing but figured I'd TAB around for optimal easter egg discoverability and... whoops! Further attempts TBC......

Cyberdevil!!! No cheating!!!

I'd forgotten how gruelingly frustrating the original Flappy Bird game really was! XD This follows suit in that way, the controls seem difficult to get a hang of, and the margin for timing's slim too with the delay on acceleration when you reverse those thrusters, you really have think and maneuver well in advance of each one, maybe you do figure out the formula after a while; it gets easier...

Graphics are alright (some background buildings seem to float though, not connected to the edge of the screen, I wonder if that's intentional?) albeit simple, chiptune music too, the mechanics work but man... this kind of difficulty really is an acquired taste.

Appreciable twist though. A novel take on the Flappy concept.
