I think you're starting to become one of my favorite artists on the site dude... the progression between the pieces you've produced just for these rounds is nothing short of astounding! It's not so much a definitive evolution in quality, as it's like you show a whole new facet of both yourself, and of your craft with each one of these. And each one IS just objectively better than the last! Helluva sales pitch Shrunkus. How far you've come... even if the last one was probably the only one in the competition I'll actually give full points on emotion. That one was an ocean.
I'm glad you didn't succumb to throes of a punishing pressure, but also glad you didn't just choose to take the other path here too; half-ass this and make it lesser. It's fun and it's fresher! It's fine-tuned like a wrestler. Both soothing and crude, a cool; groovy stretcher, still dealing with a depth only music can measure.
The 'Look at me Looky Lookie Look at me' part REALLY reminds me of some other song, but I just can't place it... not the lyrics necessarily but the overall tone; rhythm; repetition. So familiar...
Really love the percussive breaks around 1:43. Love the final build. Love the intro - caveman-grunt choir and vocal clarity on point before the music kicks in. Love the groove. Love the classic funk/rock element this has too - feels rare.
You master to hide that lisp pretty well too dude! And compound rhymes with your first rap song even?! :D caveman and Raybans, hell yes... descriptive and technical both. If you do more rap: please try more of those! Interesting delivery with the rock *chorus* bottom part too.
And the vocal processing really feels tight this time around... possibly a little more de-essing though?
This was great. Creative. Cohesive. Easy to replay. Catchy. Meaningful. Clear and easy on the ears - though possibly a little sharp in parts. I feel the pressure of really going all in here too and writing MORE. XD But low on time too... time takes it's course.
The intro's interesting too btw. In part it's like you're speaking to parts of yourself; trying to regain control; keep the band in check. Beyond the obvious: attention. We all do want that yes.
Dope work.
